Protect your PayPal Account from Phishing

PayPal is one of the most used online banking service which allows people from all over the world to transfer money to other PayPal users by simply specifying an email address the money should be send to. Being a financial service, this is one of the most widely targeted for Phishing and fraud activities. Phishing attacks are targeted in such a way that the website might have the same look and feel of PayPal and a normal user might find it difficult to identify if it is right one or not.

Steps to protect PayPal account;

  • Never open a PayPal login from an email as it is one of the most widely used method for phishing attacks
  • PayPal will never ask for your username and password, so any such request should not be attended to.
  • If you get an email that may be fraudulent, alert PayPal by forwarding it to spoof@paypal.com.
  • The best way to access PayPal is to directly opening https://www.paypal.com using your web browser.
  • If you are using a shared computer, do not save your username and password in the web browser.
